We are currently looking for a Safety Manager to join our team here in Rochester, NY.

At Patriot, The Safety Manager is responsible for the management of our current accident prevention, loss mitigation, and internal/ external safety compliance programs.  Responsibilities include safety and compliance in construction, telecommunication, and office setting to reduce or eliminate occupational injuries, illnesses, deaths and financial loss. The Safety Manager provides training related to Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) compliance as well as industry best safety practices. This traveling position is both strategic and tactical in nature, supporting activities in multiple locations and customer facilities.

Job Description for Safety Manager:

  • Grow and foster Patriot Towers safety vision and culture
  • Partner with owners, project managers and foreman to ensure safety practices are being adhered to
  • Develops, implements and manages corporate safety goals and initiatives
  • Work with employees in all areas and levels to achieve consistent safe practices throughout the organization
  • Prepares, presents and fields questions on safety topics for weekly field safety meetings
  • Ensure employees are following all OSHA and Patriot Tower safety standards
  • Actively coordinates safety activities
  • A visible example of exemplary safety behavior
  • Makes field site visits to support safe work practices and develop safeguards
  • Provide support to field leadership helping them maintain safety best practices
  • Develop, enhance and maintain accident prevention and loss mitigation programs
  • Determines corrective and preventative measures for near misses and accidents
  • Provides technical and regulatory compliance expertise and support
  • Plans, implements and maintains safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, federal, NWSA and OSHA regulations
  • Manages and tracks compliance inspections and audits
  • Manages safety records as required by law
  • Climb with tower technicians to reinforce safe climbing techniques
  • Serves as a contact person between regulatory agencies and the company
  • Leads the investigation into accidents and injuries
  • Work with Human Resources on mitigating workers compensation claims


  • This is a W2, full-time position, with generous benefits including health insurance, vacation, and 401K.


  • 8-10 years Safety experience in a construction environment
  • Certified Safety Professional
  • High School Diploma / GED
  • Associates Degree in Occupational Safety or equal experience
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • OSHA 30 Certified
  • Proven ability to work independently as well as with a team
  • Proven ability in multi-tasking
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
  • Proven problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability to adapt to changing work environment
  • Attention to detail
  • Proven ability to keep confidential information secure
  • Proven ability in managing others
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Experience with incident investigations, inspections and hazard reviews
  • Experience working with MSDS sheets
  • Tower climbing experience is a must
